Kings Lose Segal; Clune Recallled

EL SEGUNDO, CA — On February 11, the Los Angeles Kings recalled forward Richard Clune from the Ontario Reign of the ECHL after they lost right wing Brandon Segal when he was claimed off of waivers by the Dallas Stars.

Clune, 22, played in 41 games with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League (Kings’ primary minor league affiliate) this season, scoring three goals and adding nine assists for twelve points while racking up 119 penalty minutes.

The 5-10, 198-pound native of Toronto was acquired by the Kings from Dallas in exchange for forward Lauri Tukonen on July 21, 2008. He will wear jersey number 56.

Clune was assigned to the Reign on February 10.

Segal, 26, scored a goal and added an assist for two points with twenty penalty minutes in 25 games with the Kings this season. He also scored six goals and tallied eight assists for fourteen points with 34 penalty minutes with the Monarchs.
